Bren Mk1(Aus) made by Lithgow in 1944. Matching Barrel & Receiver numbers (barrel in service re-number). Seen use but very good overall condition. The barrel is from the Mk2 which the Australians seemed to prefer, probably because it was easier to manufacture and a quantity of these guns came into the UK decades ago. The Bren has the correct 'humped' butt, drum sight, carrying handle, fixed bipod legs etc. Fully Deactivated in our own workshop to current spec, action moves under spring pressure, action can be split (see photos) whereas most current spec Brens are welded closed (not barrel as is always the case), comes with transit case (post war side rail mod which could be removed, the box having slots for the early war two part gas cleaning rod is WW2), spare Mk2 Barrel (not matching serial No), scarce cleaning rod and Mk2 gasbore cleaning rod, brush and mop and Sling with clips (not shown), complete with magazine and 2023 deac' certificate.
Due to size and weight this item is classed as buyer collects, however shipping could be arranged by splitting into two parts, if this is required please contact us to discuss.
